2014 Tata Nano Diesel

Tata Nano diesel is in the making. Scheduled to make an entry in 2014, the car has been spied time and again. This time, Nano diesel was caught next to a fuel station, filling diesel and the images also give us a closer look at the rear of, what could become the smallest and cheapest diesel car in the world.

To be powered by a two cylinder turbocharged 800 cc diesel engine, that generates 40 bhp max power, new Nano diesel is expected to deliver about 35 kmpl mileage. This will make Nano diesel the most fuel efficient car in the country. The title currently belongs to Honda Amaze compact sedan which has 25.8 kmpl claimed mileage. The new Nano is also set to feature a new front look, the one which was showcased in earlier spy shots.

Nano sales have not been good. In order to revive the car, Nano diesel seems to be a trump card. Powered by a diesel engine, and offering the best mileage in the country, seems to be the answer to many first time buyers in the country currently. Tata Motors has already confirmed that the Nano diesel will be launched this financial year, probably after they showcase the car at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo in February 2014.
