As we have been saying, Volkswagen India will be soon seen launching a new petrol variant of its Vento C segment sedan. Being developed on the likes of the VW Polo GT TSI, the upcoming Vento variant will be called as the Volkswagen Vento TSI and could be launched within next few days.
Visually,
the car will be exactly like the regular variants. The only bit that
would help in differentiating the upcoming car from the existing
variants will be the ‘TSI’ badges on the bootlid.
Powering
the upcoming Volkswagen Vento TSI would be the same 1.2 litre four pot
TSI motor that powers the new Polo GT TSI. The motor is likely to offer
similar power figures and would come mated to a 7 speed DSG auto box.
The engine has a max power output of 105PS and peak torque of 175Nm for
the Polo GT TSI. It is highly unlikely that the car would come with
peddle shifters.
The Vento TSI will
be available only in the Highline trim, which means it would come with
features such as ABS, Airbags, Integrated Music System with bluetooth,
et al. The TSI variant will also come with Electronic Stability Program
(ESP) and Hill Hold.
The
Volkswagen Vento TSI 1.2 could go on sale for a price of INR 10.3
lakhs. We believe that the Vento TSI would make for an interesting
alternative for those who don’t have the budget to go for the bigger
Jetta 1.4 TSI or the newly launched Octavia 1.4 TSI.
