Nissan India launches a refreshed version of the Nissan Evalia from Rs 8.78 - 10.72 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
A year after it’s original debut into the Indian market, Nissan India has relaunched the Nissan Evalia
with a host of new and improved features. Based on the highly
successful and award winning NV200 platform, the Evalia does not seem to
have gathered as much momentum as Nissan India would have expected it to. Nissan hopes
the subtle yet significant changes that they have made in the Evalia
will change the way the car buying audience perceives the Evalia.
The biggest and most significant change in the Evalia is
the addition of sliding side windows for the middle row passengers. A
feature that in our opinion should have been present on the Evalia all
along, has finally been added thereby giving the middle row window much
more character apart from being practical as well. The window though is
still not fully openable, but more of a sliding flap, something similar
to that of the Ashok Leyland Stile. The new Nissan Evalia
also features much-appreciated Captain seats in the middle row as
opposed to the earlier bench setup. There is also a new centre-row air
conditioning unit available on the higher spec Evalias. Although this
does add a touch of additional comfort for it’s passengers, the Evalia’s
AC unit does look a tad-bit aftermarket.
The Evalia’s class leading features such as the reversing camera and
parking sensors and it’s class topping fuel efficiency of 19.30kmpl
still remain unchanged making the Evalia an excellent value proposition
vehicle. In terms of an exterior update, Nissan now offers a stylish set of chrome 15-inch alloy wheels that make the Evalia look more contemporary than before. The Nissan Evalia
currently sells only about 200 units a month on average, with fleet
customers occupying about 65% of the monthly figure. With the new and
updated Evalia, Nissan hopes both overall as well as private buyer figures will increase over the next few months.
