General Motors has quietly slipped in the facelifted Chevrolet Cruze into its India lineup. Priced at Rs 13.75 lakh for the entry-level LT manual variant, the updated Cruze takes on the recently launched Skoda Octavia and the popular Hyundai Elantra in the D-segment.

In terms of design changes, not much has been changed except for the redesigned front-end which now features an all-new grille and fog-lamp housing. The 2013 Cruze also gets newly designed alloy wheels that make the car look more premium. The rear-end design - which never got us excited due to the fact that it was too conservatively designed in contrast to the dynamic and sleek frontend – has been left unchanged.

Inside, Chevrolet is offering more safety equipment in the form of additional side airbags, taking the total count to four airbags for the top-spec LTZ variant. Underneath, the car remains the same with the same powerful 2-litre VCDI engine powering the front wheels. Producing 168PS of power and 380-Nm of torque, the Cruze still is the most powerful car in its class.

While the entry-level LT manual variant is priced at Rs 13.75 lakh, the higher grade LTZ comes in at Rs 15.25 lakh. The latter with an automatic gearbox i.e. LTZ AT costs Rs 16.15 lakh. All prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
