Videocon Mobiles Phones has announced the launch of its latest Android smartphone Videocon A42. The A42 is a budget smartphone in the country which has Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system as well as 3.75G connectivity and costs Rs 7,490.

According to a Videocon release, A42 comes in a sleek contoured body and is available in white chrome and black options. Its salient specs include dual-SIM dual standby, 3.75G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and the device is powered by a 4 GB ROM and 512 MB RAM. Khalid Zamir, Head Product Planning and Development, Videocon Mobile Phones Division, commented on the launch, “The device has been strategically priced for young consumers who are looking for their first smartphone and enter into the exciting world of Android. It is for these consumers that we have created a niche product which brings the best of hardware and software specs to answer all their needs.”
