The Nokia Lumia 1020 will see a UK release on the 5th of September, according to online retailer Expansys.
A SIM-free, unlocked Lumia 1020 looks set to cost £599.99, making it Nokia's most expensive Lumia to date. A Dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity at least match the top-end price.
The 41-megapixel Pureview camera-equipped handset, which was formally revealed last month, has the highest resolution sensor ever found in a smartphone. It's similar to the one found in Nokia's previous PureView 808 but with added optical image stabilisation for improved low-light shooting.
As with its predecessor, the camera module can capture images of up to 38 megapixel resolution but defaults to 'supersampling' a five-megapixel image to boost clarity.
Although Expansys is the largest company to take pre-orders on the handset, others have come forward with slightly lower prices. Unlocked-Mobiles.com suggests that the handset will sell for just under £550. Currently, no UK phone networks have yet confirmed subsidised prices for locked versions of the Lumia 1020.
