With every company launching a phablet version of its flagship phone, how can LG be left behind? This Korean conglomerate has recently launched a 5.5 inch version of Optimus Prime G. This phablet named Optimus G Pro is now available in India for a sum of rupees 35,643.

Specifications :

Display : 5.5 inches, 1080 x 1920 pixels

OS : Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean

CPU : Quad-Core 1.7GHz Krait 300 CPU and Adreno 320 GPU

RAM : 2GB

Memory : 16GB/32GB Internal (Expandable upto 64GB)

Primary Camera : 13MP With LED Flash

Front Camera : 2.1MP

Battery : Li-Ion 3140 mAh

In terms of connectivity, it supports HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, NFC and Infrared. LG has plagiarized the track motion feature from Samsung which pauses the video when you look away from the screen. And if you own lots of LG equipment like TV, speakers, Blu Ray etc. then you will be able to control them via your phone. Optimus G Pro also has an ability to mirror the content to DLNA certified devices.

Verdict :
There is a lot to like with the Optimus G Pro. The screen is fabulous, the phone is fast, the camera is quite decent as long as you’re shooting in daylight and the battery life is really good. It also comes loaded with a ton of software and hardware features, some of which are useful and others you don’t really need.

As with everything, there are negatives here as well. The design, for once, is just plain drab and boring.he low light performance of the camera was also not impressive and LG’s software, although useful at times, is just unattractive.

Are these things really deal breakers? Maybe for some, but overall I think the Optimus G Pro is a really solid smartphone. It’s quite large so obviously so it’s not meant for everyone but if you are comfortable with large smartphones and don’t like what Samsung, HTC or Sony are doing then you should definitely take a look at this.
